There are a number of little neighborhood parks in Sandy that are great for walking the dogs. Excellent inf you're in the neighborhood, but in no way destination parks. These are usually 1-2 blocks in size, no off leash areas, and most had kids around when we were there investigating.
Bornstedt Park
This tiny neighborhood park is about 2 blocks, and has a playground, splashpad and covered picnic area. Awesome if you live in the neighborhood or have small kids that also need some playtime. Bornstedt Park Website
Timberline Ridge Park
We didn't stop at this park, as it was really only a nice basketball court, playground and a very short walking path around the block.
Cascadia Village Park
Another small neighborhood park, this one has benches and a nice covered picnic area. We were careful and took a photo with a large bees nest!
Meinig Memorial Park
This park has a permanent amphitheater, covered bbq areas, a huge playground and lots of parking. If you're here for a concert, or for a picnic with friends, it would be a great spot, but it isn't a great destination for dog walking. Very crowded when we were there, but mostly in the playground. Barlow Ridge
This was another drive-by only park, just one city block, and most of the park was a basketball court and a play structure. Barlow Ridge Website
Hamilton Ridge Park
Another drive-by here - one city block with a play structure. Hamilton Ridge Website
Salmon Creek Park
This is another small park with a nice playground and a very short path that takes you down to Tickle Creek. There's a lot of open space here, and I'm sure the neighbors would frown about it, but if your dog is under good voice control you might be able to get away with some fetch in this park. Knollwood Park
This playground is right along the Tickle Creek Trail, which we review in another blog post here. Knollwood Park Website
Jonsrud Viewpoint
This place has an amazing view. While there's really nowhere for the dogs to go once you arrive, you can walk here from the Sandy Dog Park, and it's definitely worth the view!
