Stonefield Beach definitely takes its name seriously. Both North and South beaches are full of rocks, which is a different and interesting visual for an Oregon beach.
The North Parking area is just an unmarked pullout on the side of the road, and not a lot of space to walk at high tide, but plenty to see at low tide.
The South Parking area is a very tight turnaround, large vehicles can be difficult, and RVs are not allowed. Much more beach available in this area.
PROS
North Beach Is Unmarked This means it isn't crowded. While this isn't a great beach at high tide, you could definitely take anxious dogs here and *might* even be able to let them off leash without encountering other dogs.
Something Different It is a different scenery than most Oregon beaches with all of the small rocks.
Good Doggie Bathroom Stop Either one is a great potty break for the dogs. There's not a ton of beach for them to run on, so you can get them in and out quickly.
WATCH OUT
No Human Restrooms At either location.
South Parking Lot is Small No RVs allowed, and very few parking spots
North Parking Lot is Not Marked You just have to spot it on the side of the road.
