This dog-friendly studio condo was a good spot for us and the dogs. Ground floor, with direct access to the gassy yard from the back sliding glass door, close to the river path and plenty of room for a large kennel.
It has a bed and a pull out couch - the bed was super comfy, the pull out couch was, well, a pull-out couch. Small kitchen, but definitely advertised that way, so it wasn't a surprise. The ventilation wasn't great, but they did add an A/C unit, which I can't imagine being in there without it in the summertime, so good addition there.
There was a bird nesting on top of the keybox, so we were greeted to BRAND-NEW bird babies while we were there, and a very chill mama bird.
The neat thing I learned about Sunriver is that it is entirely off-leash, if you actually have voice or other control. We didn't do that, Callie is WAAAAY to excited about ground squirrels, but nice to know. A number of people walked their dogs on the pathways without leashes very successfully.
PROS
Affordable Sunriver is a resort, and the prices reflect that. This place was very reasonably priced.
Grass directly outside of the back porch. So nice for early morning potty time.
Close to riverwalk just steps away.
Close to entry If you're not staying in Sunriver the entire trip, you're super close to Hwy 97.
Close to grocery/shops You're also very close to the shops, gas station, restaurants, etc., not buried in the deep heart of the resort
WATCH OUT
Bikes Bikes everywhere. Kids on bikes everywhere. If your dog can't handle bikes, (or kids) this is not a good place for you. (The rental would be fine, just not Sunriver in general)
Off leash dogs everywhere The off leash dogs we saw were all were well-behaved, but that isn't always the case, as we all know.
Small if your dog is huge, this studio rental is not for you. We did fine with 2 medium dogs and 3 adults, but not everyone is ok being crammed in to spaces like that.
