We didn't actually stay at this campground, but we walked through it when we visited Clay Myers State Natural Area. It looks like a nice campground in a somewhat remote area. No cell service (Verizon), but you are really close (driving) to the actual city.

You are right next to the Clay Myers State Natural Area, which is a really awesome spot to wander and enjoy a huge mix of the coast's habitats all in one place. There's a nice 3 mile trail, and plenty of access to the stream from this park, where you might see spawning salmon moving right up the river out of the ocean.

Our friends highly recommend this location. They don't have dogs, but they do have kids. The area is super diverse so there's always something to do.

PROS

Lots to do A stream, Sand Lake, the Clay Myers walk, bird watching, beach walk, there's a lot of stuff to keep you and the dogs busy

Well maintained The sites were all clean and well-kept

WATCH OUT

Extra fees for pets It's an additional $6.00 per pet to camp here.

Sites are close together In any of your sites, you're going to be right on top of each other

Prepare to be wet I mean, you should always prepare to be wet when camping at the coast, but here's you're next to the ocean, a stream and a lot of wetlands. It is likely you'll be damp every morning.
