The Willamette Mission State Park will keep you busy all day long!
Let's start with the huge unfenced off-leash area. My dogs are very prey driven, so it was hard to keep them out of the ground-dwelling animal holes, which led them out of the official off-leash area. Fortunately, it wasn't busy while we were there, so we didn't end up bothering anyone, but keep in mind it might be hard to get them back if you're not a runner, and they take off and can't listen when ground critters are involved.
There are a number of walking trails throughout the park. All flat, some bike paths, and the rest hard-packed dirt or gravel. They'll take you a number of places, to the Nation's largest black cottonwood, to view the replica of buildings at the original Mission site, through the disc golf course, plenty of day-use and picnic areas, to Mission & Goose Lakes, and the Willamette river beach. Many trails are shared with bikes and horses.
There's a huge group camp site here for up to 75 people, a horse camp and a hiker/biker (no vehicle/no reservations) campground, but no traditional campground in the park.
On the drive into the park we saw a huge bird-of-prey nest with babies, and on the drive out someone puked lunch up in the backseat. Never a dull moment.
